In the North American continent, Serviceberry, also known as Amelanchier Lamarckii, is grown on a large scale for its beneficial effect and good taste of fruit, which among other things, contains a lot of iron in it too! At the same time, it is a specifically lovely ornamental plant, which is spectacular at spring because of its large white flowers blooming en masse or of dark green foliage and later appearing columnar shape. Its brilliant purplish-, orange-, reddish autumn foliage colour makes it a real spectacle! It can be planted to become a hedge too!
