This palm lives from Australia`s northeastern `horn` (Queensland) through Papua New Guinea to Indonesia. The Australian Aborigines were pleased to consume the young leaves developing from the shoot tips, so it is called cabbage-palm there as well. Its explicitly decorative appearance compensates the initial slow growth! In nutrient-rich soil, together with a good water supply, it will become one of the most beautiful container plants on the terrace or balcony.
