HAWTHORN `BIG GOLDEN STAR` (a giant-fruit hawthorn from Asia): it is public knowledge that hawthorns have an excellent impact upon the cardiovascular system. The Big Golden Star hawthorn produces a giant fruit that can be eaten like a small apple, leaving a small apple-core between our two fingers. This size is considered really a giant amongst the hawthorn varieties! It has a sweet-tart taste with a pleasant aroma characteristic of hawthorns only. We can preserve it as a jam, or even as a `pálinka` (fruit-brandy) ? they are first-class delicacies. Highly recommended due to their healing power too. It grows to a very decorative tree of small size, being a perfect choice for small gardens too.
