Its name comes from the unique, large, elongated shaped fruits, whose bright orange base colour is dotted and washed in with red. The flesh is delicious and juicy, excellent for fresh consumption and for making stewed fruit too. The kernel is sweet, and can be consumed as almond! The ripening time is the second half of July. It is recommended to plant other varieties close to it because of the proper pollination.
