It is one of the biggest flowered varieties among the garden rose mallow shrubs! With a flood of palm-sized purple flowers, it is a dazzling sight!

Its original natural habitat is in South-West China and North-East India, but once this plant was mistakenly believed to originate from the Near East, hence the species name: syriacus.
