HAWTHORN `GREEK` (CRATAEGUS SCHRADERIANA): a remarkable hawthorn variety with a tasty fruit. According to certain opinions, this is one of the most delicious fruits of the temperate zone thank to its wonderful and special aroma; the flesh almost melts in our mouth. Besides, it has a very salutary effect upon the cardiovascular system. We cooked an excellent tea from its dried fruits! The tree is a very beautiful, smaller tree with silvery foliage, decorated by white flowers in springtime. It produces dark red, apple-like fruit of 1,5- cm in size. Frost-resistance: Zone 5b.
