It is a bred version by Geisenheim Breeding Research Institute, which represents the largest resistance currently known against fire blight, the dreadful disease of quince. By planting this sort, the risk of fire blight can practically be reduced to zero in the orchard. Besides the fire blight, it resists to the powdery mildew and leaf spot too! The fruit quality of the sort Cydora Robusta is also outstanding! The cut flesh is cream-yellow, doesn`t get brown (!), the apple is only slightly downy, very beautiful, sun yellow coloured, regular pear-shaped, 4-5 pieces come to a kg, the taste is particularly intense, has a pleasant apple-quince aroma!
The tree is of medium strong, bushy-growing, turns to bear plenty of fruit very soon and regularly.
It is definitely suitable for processing: a premier fruit for making stewed fruit, jam, fruit juice or brandy!
