Attractive slow growing, small, dense, rounded, evergreen, almost thornless shrub. The elliptical leaves are dark bluish green with grey undersides, and with red margins. Forms a bushy, dense mound, rarely taller than 0,5 m. It produces yellow flowers in early spring, followed by purple berries in autumn. Very useful for forming a low growing hedge. Plant in a sunny or half-shady situation. Grows well in any garden soil, fresh to moderately dry.
