It is picked in the second half of October: the later picked the less sour. It ripens from November to April. It can be stored very well, even in a simple cold room. It is easily transportable, not at all sensitive to pressure. Good quality market and home apple, second-class table quality. The large fruit is flat. The peel is fine, shiny and slightly greasy to the touch, the basic colour is yellow, but this is covered by the almost crimson stripes, spots and washes. The flesh is white, semi-hard and juicy. Its taste is pleasantly sour, acidic-sweet, a thirst-quenching variety. It has a pleasant, medium-strong scent. It was used to make vinegar too. The tree is vigorous, sometimes of lush growth, messy and raises a big, spreading crown. It is suitable as a tall-trunked or at most medium-trunked bodied tree. It raises a regular crown without pruning as well. Mostly prefers moisturous sandy soil, but is highly adaptable, very vigorous, resistant, of strong growth, undemanding variety, can tolerate both drought and frost and undemanding for the ground. It is hardly sensitive to diseases. Quite early on, and then regularly produces fruit abundantly.
