Rarely grows taller than 1 m. This is the dwarf version of Photinia Red Robin, which is an upright evergreen shrub with dense foliage. The glossy dark green leaves are purplish-red at its young period. The inflorescences bloom in late spring. It is excellent as a low hedge, but is also a striking accent as a container plant on a terrace or balcony! If keeping in a container take it in a frost-free place in winter so as the roots will not freeze! Planted in the soil outside, may be worth covering the base with 20 cm thick wood-chips just to be on the safe side. Be sure the plant is put to a sunny, warm location just as in good soil and in a hot summer or in drought period give it water more times! USDA Zone 7a
