It is a cultivar created by cross-over type of breeding in the Geisenheim Research Institute (Germany). This hybrid fruit is usually mentioned/known as Mirabella too. Other similar hybrids are also known, but Bellamira produces the largest fruit. They are round, golden-yellow with a slight blush on the sunny side. The flesh easily separates from the seed(!), nice bright yellow, sweet, juicy, of particularly pleasant taste. The tree resists against diseases very well, of vigorous growth, bears fruit regularly and abundantly. Self-pollinating, so it does not require a pollinator!
