Found in Pécs, a very rich yielding and showy, large-fruited and tasty sort! The jam made of it, is premium quality, a royal dessert!
Compared to the known variety Jolico, we ascertained the following on 30th August, 2014: The weight of the fruit of the dogwood Studio is similar to those of Jolico, but it is shorter, fuller and plumper. The sort Studio is dark claret (some fruits are almost black) when it is ripe, and the tart taste disappears completely at full ripening and a very aromatic, sweet taste is formed! It has excellent fertility, the branches are full of flashy, plump berries!
The dogwood Studio starts to ripen its berries in mid-August, and they can be collected continuously for almost one month thereafter! The fruits having been fully ripe, drop off the tree, so the Italian method used to harvest the olives is advisable that is, to lay down a large foil under the tree and to collect the ripe berries every 2-3 days.
Compared to other sorts of dogwood, this version is mostly recommended to establish plantations!
The photographs were taken of our own harvest and established trees on 31 August 2014!
