Seiryu Threadleaf Japanese Maple

(Acer palmatum `Seiryu`)
This plant is currently unavailable.

It is a very slow-growing, bush shaped Japanese maple which can grow up to three meters tall. The foliage is delicate, lace-like yarn-like dissected. Its colour is undergoing dramatic changes from spring to autumn: pale green at sprouting, vivid moss green in summer, when the autumn is approaching, reddish and orange shades appear in the foliage, and finally, the whole bush turns into blazing neon-orange!

The young plants kept in shade have not, but the ones which are more advanced, also receiving some sunshine, growing half in shadow, in diffuse light, developing nicely, however, have the typical tones of colour at full intensity! The Japanese maples are completely hardy in our country (Hungary). They grow really well in a vaporous, semi-shady area with good water supply. They especially look good near smaller and larger ponds, or at any water surface!  USDA zone 6b.
