It is a lower bushy-like bamboo from China`s Sichuan province. Its large leaves form a dense, showy foliage. In its original habitat reaches a height of 4 meters while it has grown up to 2.5 m tall here during 6 years. It develops nicely in low quality and non-irrigated soil conditions as well, a showy species, which spreads much less than other Bashanias or, for example, the Phyllostachys! Because of all these good qualities, it is one of the best hedge-bamboos!
Fully hardy, the foliage usually survives harsher winters in beautiful green colour!
