This sort is slow-growing and small sized, but will be of beautiful appearance with regular spherical shape!
The basic species is native to the Balkans, an extremely drought and lime tolerant pine, which raises a very nice regular pyramidal crown with dark green foliage; initially it is slender and tapered, later spreading. Initially it is very slow-growing then, after 3-4 years, it gets faster! Its medium-sized cones are beautiful bluish purple till ripening time, then light brown when ripe. USDA Zone 5a
