It`s a spreading, evergreen tree or shrub with reddish-brown peeling bark. Its leaves are oval-lanced. The pendulous white flowers open in showy clusters at autumn-winter. In Hungary, it is worth to plant at protected areas because this plant can overwinter only in favourable locations. It can be raised superbly as a container plant! It typically appears in subtropical and Mediterranean areas or in deciduous forests. Its homeland is in the Mediterranean region. The strawberry-like, spherical, fiery red fruits, which ripen in small groups in autumn, are delicious!
