It is a shrub from South Africa, with beautiful, shiny dark green leaves, among which white, fragrant flowers bloom. From them, dark purplish pink, plum-shaped fruits will develop, which have good flavour and high nutritional value. This fruit is widely grown in the tropics for its valuable fruit, which is a fine dainty both eaten raw and processed. We can keep it as a container plant, the cultivation is the same as that of oleander. It can withstand a temperature of -1 or -2 °C for short periods.
