SOUR CHERRY „NAGYSZÉKELYI” (from Nagyszékely): a variety similar to the well-known „Pándy meggy”, producing a very high quality. Medium-late ripening time: end of June, early July. The fruit is large, both its skin and flesh have a dark claret colour, harmoniously sweet-sourish, high in sugar. Tree: vigorous in growth, aiming upwards, large in size; the „mother-tree” produces regular and rich crops, and no Monilia has ever been seen on it!
