It is a special coloured version of an old Japanese Aralia sort (Tsumugi Shibori, selected from seedlings of that) whose real beauty appears by the age of 3! Its evergreen bush consisting of long-handled, fan-shaped leaves can be nearly two meters tall. It usually overwinters easily in an unheated room, otherwise, keeping it in half shade is best. Together with its green basic version, is one of the most spectacular container plants!
