SWEET CHESTNUT MARLHAC: one of the best Eurasian hybrid sweet chestnut varieties, a French breed. Its hulls are misleading: because of the relatively short thorns it looks smaller than other giant chestnuts. However, when opened, lovely and huge chestnuts appear inside. Its resistance to diseases is very good, grows vigorously, comes soon into bearing, a very productive variety with an excellent flavour.
