Starts sprouting very early in the spring, the dark green young shoots are decorated with a nice dark purple colour. Belongs to the biggest members of the bamboo company, since can reach the height of 8-10 m, and 6-10 cm diameter. Good winter hardy, very spectacular, huge bamboo. The stems are decorated with narrow orange, violet and purple stripes as getting older.
