This is the most popular dessert pear in the UK. In our country (Hungary), its narrow, long(ish), yellow-green, juicy, sweet fruits ripen at the end of September, but ripening time may take up to November, so the taste can be enjoyed for a long time. Self-pollinating and produces fruit reliably even in scarcer years. The tree can be 8.2-26-foot (2.5-8 metres) tall, depending on the rootstock, but can be kept easily lower than 10 feet (3 metres) by proper pruning. Its white flowers are also excellent nectar providers to the bees!
