Kioto Apricot

(Armeniaca vulgaris `Kioto`)
This plant is currently unavailable.

In an Austrian field test it has been proved to be the very best one among 150 species! Blossoming comes late therefore it can avoid spring frosts safely. Thanks to this extremely advantageous feature coupled with excellent fruit quality and high yields, this is one of the most valuable apricots of all those are currently available on the market, providing one of the highest incomes for the growers! In certain years, it tends to overload itself with fruit – in this case the desired fruit size can be maintained by thinning out. Anyway, the fruit is medium-large size, its colour is bright orange with a very flashy red colour on one third of the surface! The flesh is of ideal texture, very tasty, recommended for fresh consumption mainly! It can be delivered very well. It starts ripening about 1 week after the species Big Red, in late June.
