Quercus coccifera

(Quercus coccifera )
This plant is currently unavailable.

It grows almost throughout the Mediterranean region, 4-5 m tall, has spiky-leaves similar to holly, a winter-hardy evergreen shrub or small tree. The young shoots appear together with the spring flowering, the flowers are crimson or reddish-brown. The acorn-cups are spiky because of their scales turned back. As a hedgerow, it forms an impenetrable wall. USDA zone 7a
