It is a South African origin, fleshy-leaved succulent plant that churns out its very impressive, purplish-centred, almost neon-like red flowers from late spring until the first frosts! It forms a flower-carpet of about 6-inch thick and 15.6-19.5-inch wide on the ground. The thick leaves store a lot of water, so can bear drought and summer heat very well! Its cold tolerance is also good, but stagnant water should be drained from it in winter.
