It is a brand new French variety, which is particularly interesting because of its very late ripening! Blooms comes out late after winter too, thus safely avoids spring frosts! You can start collecting the fruits in the first week of August, 20 days after Bergeron, which counts a late maturing variety anyway! Its fruit is showy, roundish and the colour is reddish on orange basis. The fruit pulp has medium solidity, of pleasant flavour, slightly juicy, excellent for fresh consumption, drying or preserving alike! It is a self-sterile species, Bergarouge is one of the best pollinator to it, otherwise, it regularly and abundantly produces fruit!
