Apple: Pünkösd királya (King of Pentecost)

(Malus domestica `Pünkösd királya`)
This plant is currently unavailable.

At the end of the 1890s, this fruit was described as the most important nourishment of the settlements of Göcsej, Hungary. Naturally, it is only possible if there is always fresh fruit or dried fruit. This sort, as its name also suggests, can be consumed until the beginning of the spring, until Pentecost. The apple is small, greenish and orange-red or reddish on the sunlit side. Its taste is slightly bitter, the flesh is firm, and can store itself even under the tree till the middle of spring, but only if the birds and the wild animals do not eat it up of course.
