It is a perennial ground cover plant, native to some parts of New Zealand and Australia, spreading in a carpet-like way. It forms a spectacular carpet very quickly in gardens and parks, relatively little irrigation is enough for it! Although it gets thinner for the winter, while keeps its lush and green state at favourable locations, quickly returns to its dense carpet-like appearance in spring. In our country (Hungary), this plant can practically overwinter everywhere! It hangs down like a curtain from hanging pots.
