Apple: Kisasszonyalma (Little Lady`s Apple)

(Malus domestica `Kisasszonyalma`)
This plant is currently unavailable.

It is a medium-sized, slightly flattened, but otherwise regular shaped apple (length 56 mm, width 74 mm). `Hoarsish` with greenish-white flesh. The basic colour of the skin is green with bright red coating colour. Both on the basic colour and the coating colour there are white dots, which elongate to stripes on the side of the stalk, and become dense on the side of the crown. Tastes the typical apple flavour without specificity. The fruit is beautiful, red on one side (`none is so beautiful as Young Lady Apple`). `This has got a good name because it is really beautiful as well as delicious, just cannot be stored till spring` (Uncle Lajoska). Can be stored till February. Occurrence: Sükő, Farcád, Derzs, Szekelyszentmihály (in Transylvania). There is less and less of it, used to be very widespread along the stream Nyikó, was given to the animals as well. The tree becomes huge and requires regular fertilization. (szekelygyumolcs.ro)
Our experience: it is a medium sized, very good-looking apple, green and red coloured. The flesh is soft, juicy, tasty, with slight aroma of wine! It ripens in early October, but it can already be harvested at the end of September. We have not made any juice of it yet, but it would be fine, sure!
