It is a valuable variety, bears huge quinces, in our garden it has already had quinces of 21-24.5 oz (0,6-0,7 kg!). It ripens in October, the fruit is bright yellow, the fruit-flesh is very tough and hard to chew when it is raw, yet juicy and very sweet with Mediterranean-scented aroma. When has been processed, it can be a tempting sublime delicacy for everybody, called quince jelly! Some of the most recent quince plantations are for the purpose of making special brandy.
The tree is fast-growing when young, later slows down and does not occupy a wide place in the garden.
