PEAR `VÉRKÖRTE` (blood pear): a roundish, very lovely, medium size fruit, whose colour is purplish red when ripe. Ripens early, in mid-July. The flesh is less juicy, mellow, with a very pleasant aroma. Its chief attraction is the vivid pink colour of the flesh, giving a spectacular picture when cut. A variety productive regularly every year, tough and resistant to diseases. The tree has got a medium strong vigour in growth, sometimes grows slowly.
