 It is a beautiful version with large fruit yield, one of the most popular kiwi versions in the world! Only produces fruits if it is planted together with a pollinator! One pollinator plant can pollinate 2-3 pistillate plants. Pollinator Tomuri is advisable to be planted next to it. On the website terebess.hu we found the following:

``It`s the fruit of today`s stars. Not by chance, as it contains ten times more vitamin C than an apple has in it. This plant is a creeping shrub similar to grapes, which can be grown wherever the grapes are able to live too. Its frost sensitivity is the same as that of table grapes. Robust, of strong growth, with an inch thick sprouts, a number of round hairy leaves and large white flowers with a diameter of 3 cm. Pruning and spraying is not needed, hoe prohibited. (Shallow hoeing is possible! I also hoe it and it grows brilliantly! DM)

It ripens perfectly in Hungary because it is a climacteric fruit. We pick the fruits before frost comes and eat them from the beginning of December to the end of April, when they are soft, having become ripe. A stalk can produce even 800-1000 pcs. Kiwi fruit grown on our own is much nicer and has sweeter flavour than store-bought ones, because we pick them in a riper condition. It starts producing fruits in the third year after planting.``

I would add a few things to the abovementioned: pruning expertly doesn`t harm, but doing it incompetently can easily ruin that year`s yield! The point of pruning is not to cut back long, tendril-like canes, we only need to reduce their numbers if they are growing too lushly.

Domestic experience in fruit storage is very encouraging: if you pick your fruit crops before full ripe, so they are almost ripe, just a little immature, still a little bit hard, they can be well stored in a cool basement or in an unheated, but frost-free garage for months! The in-stored fruits must be checked regularly and carefully touched. We can eat the pieces, which have become riper and are a bit softer.

The simplest way of eating is to cut the soft fruits in half and eat the pulp out from the skin with a spoon. The own produced kiwi picked and stored in just before ripening has heavenly taste which cannot be mentioned in the same way as the import kiwi picked several weeks before ripening time!!! Some farmers managed to store their kiwis nearly 6 months! It is sure to be one of the most obvious source of vitamins in winter! Since it can be grown easily without chemicals and is easy to store up, it is a serious transgression not to deal with it!

The following information is shocking: In October 2009, in a private garden of Letenye, they picked around 240 kilograms that is almost a quarter of a ton fruit from a single female kiwi shrub!!!
