Chinese Seven Sons Plant

(Heptacodium miconoides )
3 500 Ft

It is a small tree growing up to 4-7 metres tall, native to China, which has a special value of blooming in autumn! The creamy-white slightly purple flowers, which open scattered here and there in June and en masse from late August to November (!), are fragrant and attract butterflies! After flowering, the sepals changing to bright red and masses of fruit buds decorate the tree! It is fully winter-hardy (to minus 35 degrees!), not picky in soils and endures the polluted urban environment too. It is one of the most cheerful dash of colour in the autumn garden!
