One of the biggest giant bamboo under our temperate climate: easily can reach a height of 10 meters, but under optimal circumstances the height can be 18 meters as well! The stems are also very thick: about 10 cm. The colour of the stems and the leaves are similar: grass-green or light green. The young shoots are decorated with white rings by the nodes. Winter hardiness and also drought tolerance is good. The edible young shoots are tasty. Rapidly grows to a spectacular forest!
