It is a large sized, very spectacular shrub with dark purple leaves. The foliage retains its beautiful colour from coming out to falling of leaves. After blossoming in June, it will be decorated by the candy-floss-like, large, purple-pink flower tufts. Its necessities are the same as those of basic species. An extremely impressive solitaire plant, which is very grateful for the occasional prunings: it will grow vividly and brings out a beautiful foliage colour. USDA Zone 4a.
