 It is a tree or bush with a rising chief sector and a height of 5-18 m. The barks of the young trees are smooth and shiny gray with drops of resin. The back sides of the green needles are silvery-white. The plant’s particular value is that even at a relatively young age it brings its very showy, purplish blue cones. It is native of the Korean peninsula, where in the higher regions it forms dwarf-pine-like low shrublands. USDA Zone 6
