Carya illinoiensis (Pecan Nut)

(Carya illinoiensis )
This plant is currently unavailable.

It is a North American origin plant, developing into a spreading tree. In appearance it is similar to our nut tree, but the leaves are more elongated and with pointed ends. The real difference is in the harvest. The pecan nutshell is smooth, mottled brown, elongated ovate, really nice! The taste is very good and many say it surpasses the domestic nuts. It ripens usually in November, highly marketable and a promising novelty!

The container seedling offered here will start bearing fruits approx. in 5-6 years` time.
