 PEAR `KARAMUT`: an old, historical pear variety from Bosnia, which is extremely resistant to diseases. The pears have got a long stem, their colour is yellowish green; ripe in early October, smaller or medium in size, with a special aroma. The most important area of use is destillation to a fruit brandy (pálinka), but it is worth using for other purposes too: eating it fresh or canned.
