This impressive tall deciduous tree is native to the central and southeastern United States from New York to Florida and across to Texas. The bright green and cream-yellow or ivory yellow alternate colour mix on the star-shaped leaves have an interesting effect in summer, which turns into shades of red, purple and yellow in autumn.
