It is an exotic tree, native to China and Korea, with a particularly narrow, columnar habit and attractive yellow flowers. It has handsome, pinnate, slightly feather-like foliage. The leaves are pale green and turn to beautiful golden-yellow in autumn before falling. The yellow flowers appear in panicles in July and August, adorning the outer edges of the tree. It generally reaches a height of 3-7 m in our climate and is a lovely phenomenon for a warm, sunny garden!
