 It is a long-lived tree, native to East Asia (Russia, Japan, China, Korea), grows to 15-20 meters tall. The young canes and the trunk is covered with spikes. Its large inflorescences, which are very attractive and valuable for bees, bloom among the very beautiful seven-lobed leaves in summer, in addition, flowering comes in late August or early September, when the bees are in need anyway. The black berries that ripen from the flowers are eaten by the birds with predilection. This is a highly tolerant plant: bears poor soil quality, very serious cold and diseases are not known!
