Tasmanian Cider Gum

(Eucalyptus gunnii var. divaricata)
This plant is currently unavailable.

It is one of the most cold-tolerant species of the genus Eucalyptus, which originates from the mountainous areas of South Australia and Tasmania. It tolerates -18 Cº for shorter periods. By the old age, it can reach a height of 30 metres, but rarely grows taller than 15 m outside its home country. Where the winters are milder in the country (Hungary), you can try to plant it outside as well. Its leaves have very beautiful bluish hue. The leaves are still rounded on the young plants, but they are already oblong on the older ones. It is usually typical on eucalyptus that juvenile leaf shape changes into old age type leaf with the progress of the age. The eucalyptus trees are very light-demanding, fast growing, spectacular container plants!
